Designing the Brand Identity and User Interface for an Innovative Staff Management Platform
Clockatoo approached me with the goal of creating a strong brand identity and a modern, intuitive mobile app interface to support their new staff management solution. Focused on simplifying the clock-in/clock-out process for businesses, Clockatoo needed a visual presence that conveyed ease of use, professionalism, and reliability.
Project Overview
The Clockatoo platform was developed to allow businesses to efficiently manage employee attendance and working hours through a mobile portal.
I was tasked with building the brand foundation from the ground up — designing the logo, establishing the visual identity, and creating a clean, user-centric interface for the mobile application.
My Approach
The branding began with the creation of a fresh, modern logo. I designed a clean mark that balanced professionalism with approachability, symbolising time management, precision, and digital innovation — all critical attributes for the product’s target market.
For the colour palette, I selected tones that reflected trust, clarity, and simplicity, aligning with the app’s goal of making staff management as effortless as possible.
Typography was carefully chosen to ensure maximum readability across mobile devices, with a friendly but highly professional tone that would appeal to both small businesses and larger organisations.
Following the brand development, I designed the UI/UX for the Clockatoo mobile app. The interface prioritises user experience, with streamlined navigation and intuitive layouts that allow employees and managers to clock in, clock out, and track time with minimal effort.
Every screen was designed to be clean, uncluttered, and easy to understand, ensuring the application would be accessible to users of all technical abilities.
Throughout the project, I worked closely with the client’s development team, preparing the necessary design assets and specifications to ensure a smooth transition from design to development.
Results
Clockatoo now has a polished, cohesive brand identity and a modern, user-focused app design ready to support its launch.
Although the app is currently still in the development phase, the branding and UI/UX foundations have been designed to scale as the product grows — setting the stage for a strong entry into the staff management solutions market.
